After buying a phone lead from Ebay, I was given one of these antenna boosters free. I'm having trouble trying to get my head around how having a seemingly harmless sticker behind my battery can boost a signal.
Has anyone tried one, and were the results favourable?

I recall numerous discussions about this exact same booster and 99% of people say they are useless, including me who has also received them from ebay and tried them. Indeed I found that one of them possibly caused a worse signal, though I was by no means doing a scientific test

you have to wonder how old these are now? look at the phone on the picture, its a very old (5 years ago?) 5110 or similar

I would be surprised if anyone ever paid $19.99 for these!

We used to get those being sold on suburban trains here in Mumbai. Sold for Rs. 10 each. Really cheap. Its another thing to check if these work or not. Btw, 1 USD = around 40 Rupees.

Yeah, exactly as masseur says.

technology has no doubt changed over the past 5years, they might have worked fine on mobile phones back then, but are most probably useless on todays modern mobiles.
If you live in a glass house, don't be chuckin stuff about.

I've looked at various websites and they all make claims that these work, but I think these sites with their statistics are probably just there to help make the thing look good and boost sales, as opposed to boost signal.
I think I'll go into a metal lift and just place it in (not stick it) and see if it has an effect on signal.

They don't work at all. I saw a tv show about it where they comprehensively test the theory.

The only way they boosted the signal was by lining the room in tin foil. But i dont think you want to bother with that.

A small area will do...
But Lo-couk.. most of the UK has pretty decent signal anyway, unless you're in those crappy spots.
And, if manufacturers tell you to keep your fingers/hand away from the transmitter/receiver, do you not think this external booster might just damage your health?
