Dear all W610i users:

I was wondering if there is any add-on for W610i to allow me to type Japanese on the cell?

Thanks in advance on any reply...

Hi,

It depends on what kind of firmware/ operating system it has. I don't know the phone well. I think it is for

GSM 850
EDGE
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900 networks

UIQ3 phones can have Japanese software added as can Windows Mobiles.

W610i isn't a smart phone, but I think it supports J2ME...
(please correct me if I am wrong about this)...

If there any add-one that will allow me to type Japanese on my W610i?

Hi,

I certainly do not know of any add-on. I have looked for phones in the UK that support Japanese for 11 years now.

I used a Vodafone 802se, but messaging was very limited, on UK networks.

I also used a W950i with PSILOC's Japanese, which was ok but not perfect, and I now use a TyTn II, with full Japanes and Chinese support.

I do not think there are other options, but hope you prove me to be incorrect !

A simple search with google revealed this

Good luck !
