Do you want to use your phone as a modem to view websites on your laptop or use your laptops internet connection to browse websites on your phone?
If its the first then you will be charged for the amount of data that you use. If its the second then you will not be charged (if you get it working).

When I was on 3 I had the X-Series Silver add-on £5 a month for unlimited access. Could use my phone connected to laptop and browse unlimited. Used the USB Intenet option in the SE phone (W850i) which basically acted as a gateway to the network. So the phone was the one connected to the internet (under the plan) but the laptop was the device (browser) making requests. Worked like a charm!
Used under 1Gb and was not charged as it came from the price plan of the phone. However, do check with your operator etc.
