I just bought a new Laptop and tried SE's Remote Control.

However only some of the buttons works as intended for the media player.

The Play/Pause, rewind, fast forward, stop, L, R works fine.

However the Mute button and volume +/- doesn't work properly.
When I press the - button for the volume is turn the volume up, and when I press the + nothing happens. When I the mute button it turn the volume down.

The laptop runs Windows Vista Home Premium.
And the Media Player is version 11.

Is the is known bug? Is there a good alternative for the SE's build in Remote controller?

The remote control is just a device that mimics keyboard shortcuts on your computer.

The volume on windows media play is controled by F7 to mute F8 to decrease the volume and F9 to increase it. If you go into wmp try it for your self.

The phone is pre programmed to use F8 F9 and F10.

For more information on the shortcuts used look at this document.

If you want to make your own remote control the developers site has a tool available.

http://developer.sonyericsson[....]0&template=ps3&zone=ps

Load the application make the short cuts you need and then trasfer the file back to your phone. (The "other" folder)

hope that helps.

I've even checked it out myself. Instead of me keeping it to myself here is the fixed file.

download this and download it to your other folder on your phone.

Hope your a happy man.

Enjoy

I'm about to make my own.

However how can I use the short cut Windows key + L ? When I hit it the PC just locks itself.

Thanks in advance.
