The topic of video streaming has come up many times over on these forums. However they all deal with Wifi connections (not all... I only looked at the first 10 pages or so, I'm not crazy enough to read them all).

For those of us who don't want to watch youtube connected to wifi (just use your pc if you're already at home), using our network's GPRS connection is the only other option. My connection works fine. I can go to just about any website and audio streaming works about half the time. Video streaming never works though. I have tried to stream videos from m.youtube.com m.zoovision.com and m.vtap.com. All three of these websites stream with the .3gp format yet I can't get any of them to work!

So my question for those of you who claim to be able to stream videos with your GPRS, what are you're settings and what service provider do you use?

I have T-Mobile and I have the $5.99 plan.

BTW, I can't get wi-fi to work either, my router doesn't have any options to open up RSTP/RTP settings so I won't even bother. mobile streaming is meant for on the go. In any case, I've been to places with free Wifi (starbucks, Cosi, Borders) and I still can't stream videos. But that's not what I'm here for. I'm just pointing this out because it leads me to thing that it is indeed the phone's fault and not my connections =\

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

I struggled with the exact same problem on my o2 branded P1i and gave up.

Its the format that youtube uses and the buffering as it loads up in the P1i's media player however other sites use clips that load up in the P1's realplayer which streams over 3g without any prob.

Streaming over my wlan isn't a prob as long as i forward the correct router ports to the p1i.

Is there any solution to this? I have the exact problem.. How come the links to video streams that worked fine on my k750i don't work on my p1i? I always get "This link appears to not be working. Do you want to try again?"

Are there any special proxy settings for this device that i didn't find?
