Ok, well if your dropped it in water and thats all it's doing, then it's obviously dead. Let it go, let it be in the big phone box in the sky etc, etc.
Failing that, you've got yourself a free vibrator in the process

Indeed, there's sadly not much you can do with a water damaged phone. The only thing you could try is take the phone apart, get the phone's mainboard on it's own and spray it with contact cleaner or WD-40 (Don't get any on the mic at the bottom as it will kill it!) and see if that makes a difference.
Otherwise, I'm afraid it's new phone time!

take it to some local guy who can fix it. If not open the phone take tooth brush some IPA(iso propyl alcohol) and clean it.
You might have blue coloured stains on the PCB, due to salt formation/corrosion.
So clean it and dry it with hair drier and then use the phone.
Remember dont put IPA on the phone screen, it will damage the screen , just use it on the PCB.

thanks for the feedback, where can i get some of this stuff that you guys listed to try to put on the mother board. I am willing to try it.
I ALSO READ THIS...ANY INPUT ON THIS BELOW: ?
"The best repair for water damage is to strip the phone down to its motheboard and .... give the motherboard a bath in Methylated Spirits (get this right, do not, repeat do not, use any other kind of fluid.
The Meth will dissolve corrosion around the surface mount components and will in many cases cause a repair to the broken handset. I've "repaired" quite a few water damaged handsets in this manner. All claimed beyond repair by the phone companies and their agents."
please let me know if you know about Methylated Spirits??? any input i would be thankfull for. |

USE IPA its good, I have fixed about 10 phones using it, all were water damaged.
It should be available with the chemist. |
