wat were u expecting 1mbps ?!?
it aint the p800's tech specs that are holding ti baqck speed wise anyway its network dependent capabilities as stated again in the tech psecs of both the manual and on the site
after actually reading the manual all way through it shows just how many needless threads of heresay are on easto.
for instance on another thread a poster says that u cant use mp3's as ringtone he thinks......dont think mate read the manual and it says you can.
everyone should read the manual - it holds all the answers

Its not really 56k
gprs is a bit faster than that due to seperate uplink / downlink channels
think more like 100k

shibby - I think u should read the manual over one more time, you CAN NOT use mp3 for ringtones, Believe me I have tried, and when I look in the manual it doesnt say u can use mp3 format for ringtones, just every other format.. I also thought mp3`s could be used, but sadly, it Cant |

from the manual:
'You can select ring signale that are stored on your local storage or on Memory Stick.'
hence for me the mnual is saying any music clip you have can be used as ringtone.
if in fact the p800 doesnt let u use mp3 as ringtone then this should be addressed in some literature

ISDN speed??? GPRS can hit those speeds...so can the P800... it's the networks that can't handle it.
Besides, you'll be paying per KB of data... not time online. |

from the october white paper:
The HSCSD maximum data rates (kbps) using the P800 are shown below.
9.6kbps per timeslot :: Rx 19.2 :: Tx 9.6
14.4kbps per timeslot :: Rx 28.8 :: Tx 14.4
