Hi all,
I have a solution that allows you to get the Mitsumi WIF-0402C bluetooth adapter working with a T68i, Windows XP and XTNDConnect synchronization with Outlook. I think that most of this has been mentioned on the forums before, but I couldn't find it all in one posting.
First thing: DON'T install the Mitsumi driver software. It isn't great and wouldn't work for my setup.
1. Download D-Link drivers from here (same actual device, better software):
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/DBT120/Driver/dbt120_driver_20.zip
2. Unzip this file to a temporary folder then edit the file btwusb.inf
3. Insert following lines as appropriate:
[WIDCOMM]
%MITSUMI.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USBVID_03EE&PID_641F ; MITSUMI
[strings]
MITSUMI.DeviceDesc= "MITSUMI USB Bluetooth Device"
4. Run the setup.exe file from from the temp folder to install the software.
5. Switch off your PC, insert the Mitsumi adapter, restart the PC
6. When XP identifies the adapter, choose to install the driver from your temporary folder.
7. Enable Bluetooth on your T68i and make it discoverable.
8. On your PC, right-click the BT Tray icon, select Services, Bluetooth Serial Port, Find Devices
9. When it finds your phone, bind the Serial port following the wizard.
10. Right-click BT Tray icon, select Setup, Configuration, Local Services then note the Bluetooth serial port COM port number.
11. Select the Client Applications tab and note this Bluetooth serial port COM port number also then exit the app.
12. Install Sony Ericsson suite, including XTNDConnect and phone monitor. Reboot if prompted.
13. Open Control Panel, select Phone Monitor Options, select COM Ports.
14. For each port you noted earlier, select Enable and Reserve. Click OK to exit this.
That should be it - just run XTNDConnect directly from the shortcut it adds to Outlook.

This is great, but you cannot transfer pictures from your T68i to the PC.
Can we do the same thing and use the Tecom software instead? I've read in this forum that the Tecom software will let your transfer pics from the phone to the PC.
So install Tecom software but use the drivers created with the D-link package? |

Forget about these drivers, go to tecom website and download their drivers. Use the same editing to make the software recognize your mitsumi adapter.
Make sure the drivers are at least version 1.2.2.16.

Hey JohnB, great solution, I've been looking everywhere for a solution to my problem and yours worked. Looking at the other posts I also noticed I can't send from my T68i to my PC. Tried installing the Tecom .16 software but couldn't install it properly. Kept getting an error message when I clicked on "My Bluetooth Pages", it was saying there was no file association or something like that. Can't figure it out, but I do want to archive all those stock pics from my T68i to my PC before I delete them on the phone. Going to reinstall the .15 Tecom and hopefully all will be restored, just no t68i to PC. If anyone knows a solution to my problem please post or e-mail me. Thanks.

You will have that error message if you don't use the mitsumi drivers.
Install the Tecom package but when asked for drivers make sure that direct it to your modify INI file.
Give me your email address and I send you the modified file, if you can't figure it out. |

Nopulse, thats exaclty what i've been doing. I've modified the btwusb.inf file before using the lines in JohnB's original posting. That's how I was able to install the .15 Tecom software at first before I tried the .16 Tecom, and to confirm this I've already re-installed the .15 Tecom and all is fine again, excpet being able to go from Phone to PC. Do I need to modify another type of .inf file? I've done eveything the same and for whatever reason, the .15 version works, but the .16 doesn't. Any help would be appreciated. My sig has all my specs. Thanks.

In a few days I will receive the Mitsumi WIF-0402C bluetooth adapter. I'm using Windows XP Professional with the SE T68i. Which drivers are the best? I read a lot about the D-Link drivers, but also the Tecom drivers are mentioned. Can some give me advise?
Thanks in advance.

I think they are the same thing, everyone says to go with the v.16 Tecom drivers, I have XinXP Pro SP1 and I can't get those to install. I've modified the btwusb.inf file and it works fine with the v.16 Tecom SW, but for some reason v.16 won't install. Try v.16 and let me know how it works.

Hi all, I'm new to all this, would someone mind listing out all the softwares I'll need in order to make my Mitsumi bluetooth adaptor communicate with my phone? I'm a bit lost. |

Today I received my Mitsumi WIF-0402C Bluetooth adapter. I've installed the TECOM 1.2.2.16 drivers, instead of the original Mitsumi drivers. Everything is working fine, but what is the maximum distance between your Mitsumi WIF-0402C and the T68i before losing the connection? When I remove the phone more than 1 meter, the connection is lost. I'm using this configuration:
SonyEricsson T68i, R6A012
Misumi WIF-0402C Bluetooth dongle
TECOM 1.2.2.16 driver
Windows XP Professional, SP1
Toshiba Satellite 2670DVD (Pentium III - 450 Mhz)
Thanks for your reply.

My operating distance is at least 4m. I'm sure about other people and I haven't tested it until it disconnects but I know for certain that I can work with if from 4m away |
