It brings tears to my eyes seeing how they do this,
but it hasn't put me off eating meat.
Have any of you lot been watching this?

Yeh I have been watching this.
Think tonights was really brutal because te stun machine never worked so the lambs actually got a 4 inch bolt shot through there head. The bolt retracts back into the gun afterwards
Actually almost made me sick watching this

I switched over on the Lambs getting butchered I couldn't watch it needless to say I ate lamb new years day it was very nice but Im not gonna eat it again for a very longtime
ive been to a Slaughter house,
picked a chicken, watched them cut it's neck and stuff I was about 13 then though!
the only animal that would upset me getting killed like that would be a Duck or a Goose there my fav animal even though ive tasted duck it made me feel very bad at the end of it!
Personally though I don't think I could kill something and cook it straight off like that!
The Calf episode made me cry after they butched one and brought out the next that animal could see the other one hanging up gushing blood everywhere it wasn't very nice

The thing is, if your prepared to eat the meat, you should be prepared to see it go from day one to its death.
The animals are bred especially for us to eat, and I think its a good thing that they are showing it on Tv.
I watched the one with Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall the other night, about the chickens, and that was an eye opener also. Free range for me from now on.

Yes, I think these programmes are a brilliant idea. I don't eat meat but only because I've never liked it very much rather than on moral grounds. But still, it's high time that people saw what intensive farming and processing methods are really like. Maybe then, something will finally be done about it. It's already spurred the government into bringing forward the banning of battery egg farming, thank goodness.

I agree. I reckon a lot of people wouldn't be able to eat chickens after seeing how caged hens are treated from chicklets to their death a few unnaturally short weeks later (after being pumped full of hormones) . I buy free range from the supermarket, but who knows what you get at restaurants/fast food.

Ive seen a chicken get Slaughtered for real it wasn't like on the program,
the chickens are in a big room together, you choose which one you want, the guy catches it, cuts its neck and then lets the blood drip out on some machine,
is it true that they force feed Geese,
till there stomachs pop?
Seeing animals though as young as that getting slaughtered wasn't very nice, the Calfs, Lambs and Goats esp..

I love this program!
watched the first series on BBC3 and it was wicked, not seen this series but I am sure to catch it on iPlayer......
as people have said, if you want to eat meat you need to know where it comes from..
My interest in fresh meat came from my ex, her Dad is a farmer, he had a cow killed at 0800, was on my plate by 1300... was delicious!
In all honesty, as long as my meat is tasty I'm not fussed as to where it comes from!
as someone once said..... "If God hadn't meant us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?"
