Hi. I have this cable which reads on one side ERI T28. It is a serial cable.

The pin layout looks something like this: |''|'|.''.....| (' appears where there is a pin, a . means no pin. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out in determining whether or not this is a data or a service cable which I can use to remotely unlock my phone.

Thanks!

I believe it's a data cable. I have a service cable that also reads ERI T28, but the pin layout is:

|''''''''|'.''|

In other words, there's a pin for every contact on the phone. And the plug is missing one of the little plastic tabs that hook into in the phone.

I have both a T28 service cable AND a T39 datacable (which does work with my T68i). HOWEVER, they both have exactly the SAME pin layout which is the same as Gfunkdave's.

I can 100% guarantee that my T39 is not also a service cable because I have tried using it when I wanted to flash my phone and it did not work. The T29 service cable did let me flash the phone as expected, but the T28 cable will net let me use it as a data cable (which I have tried)

So for me... here's short summary of my cables

T39 Datacable : allows data but does not allow servicing

T28 Service cable : allows servicing but no data

Both cable : Have IDENTICAL pin layouts (same as Gfunk's)
