W910i "dot" on front |

Hey
I've been searching for an answer to this for a while now, i cant find anywhere that has it described.
On the front of the w910i is a greyish white dot - to the right of the right display button.
My first idea was that this was a led for notifying the user of events like text messages or calendar appointments. However it doesnt light up on either.
Another idea was that it could be a light sensor, but i've shot that one down too.
so my question is, WHAT is it and what does it do?. if it does nothing, why not just do a regular front. or is it just a "beauty mark"? |

I don't have a W910 yet but I think you have a ''dead pixel'',it's something that happens very often with LCD tvs and monitors (one over 50) and is rare in mobile LCDs but it can occur (one over 10000)
I know that for a LCD monitor the warranty covers it if you have more than 5 dead pixels but perhaps in the mobile industry it's completly different because the screen is small,so take it to a SE service center and let them change it free for you

if you look at an image of the w910i in red, you will see that it has a small grey dot near the selection keys, this just adjusts the brightness of the screen to suit the surroundings

I can't seem to be able to find this "auto" setting. Where is it? In the Display settings I can find the brightness, but besides the 5 predefined settings, I don't have "auto". Where did you find it?
Thanks! |

It auto adjusts even if a certain level of brightness is set? That doesn't make too much sense from SE |
