I paired this headset with my HTC P3600. Music plays for about 10 minute and starts skipping. i try to do a search here but nothing comes up.

I un-paired and paired again over and over. it's the same after 10 minute or so. is this has to do with buffering or ???

anyone experiences the same problem with this headset??

Hi,

Yes...I'm having the same problem but I was using a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 and my P1 and it started to skip. Now I have Motorola S9 Bluetooth Headset connected to my P1 and it's skipping also. If anyone can shed some light on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have a HBH-DS970 working with a P1i, it works fine until i put the mobile in my pocket for exercising, it start skipping with the radio and with the mp3 player, not tested with the calls.

I´ll test the device with another model, but i need a couple of days for that...

The body is very good at blocking BT radio waves. The skipping is due to data transfer interuption.

With my P990 & DS970 A would get discruption to the sound if my body was between the phone & headset or I put my hand around the DS970.

I didn't use the DS970 due to this.

Then bought the W960i with a DS980 headset & find I don't get any signal drop with the DS980 or even the DS970 with this phone leading me to believe the BT is better on the phone???

It looks like the P1 is a constant in this problem... I hope this can be solved in anyway

I have had both 970 and now using 980 with my P1. I find the reception on the 980 much better than the 970. With the 970, it was enough just to walk away 2 meters from the phone it started to skip, and almost impossible when I turned my back to the phone. The 980 manages even to play uninterrupted with walls between the HF and phone! This could also be a firmware issue in the P1, since I changed to latest firmware inbetween the use of the 970 and the 980, while the 970 was at servicecenter getting exchanged. I managed to get the store where I bought it to swap it for a 980, I'm so happy for that!

i can try it again just to be sure.

I've not used a pocket PC for years prefering symbian/UIQ but I recall some BT devices have option to a low power mode or only operational for 10 minutes etc.

Have you checked you don't have BT enabled this way on you PPC and that it is fully on, bonded & auto-connect to the DS970/980 ??

I´ve used mine HBH-DS970 with a Qtek 9100, Nokia N95, SE P1i and SE T650i and I have never experienced any skipping.
With the Qtek 9100 I could experience some disturbance, but not with the other phones.

i begin to wonder if this is phone dependent.

It definitely is. I tried with k800, k850 and w950i. Best performance is with w950, followed by k850 then k800... The k800 is really bad... Skips the instant theres some movements (eg. passerby walk past close to you) I think bluetooth signals are programmed by SE people so as not to let cybershot phone override walkman phone's capability so much.

... well, I have an M600i and a Pocket PC that's been enabled with the A2DP profile. I get no skips or breaks with the M600i but it happens ever so often with the Pocket PC... I always thought it was due to "my upgrade"... my pda is the RX3115... which, out of the box, doesn't support A2DP. i'm referring to the HBH-DS970 headset.

I use my HBH-DS970 daily with my W950i and it does skip sometimes.
It seems to happen most often when moving one device away from the other, e.g. sometimes when putting the phone back in my pocket it will skip briefly.

The skips are just a short pause for less than 1 second by the way.
