What have you been smoking? Nokia phones are getting pulled out of the european markets due to buggy software. New Nokia phones don't have bluetooth. You think they "connect people" because of that screaming-loud SMS tone?? More like Nokia: Annoy your neighbors!
I really do NOT see how you can call the quiet SMS tone a "BUG" considering it isn't. It's that way by design; it seems the Japanese (Sony) have 2 things on their minds:
1: Respect your neighbors, and their right to sleep without hearing your damn phone
2: Don't text while walking, you might get hit by a car. |

In fact, I am sorry to see that you obviously have no respect or regard for your neighbors, or the people around you, if you really think that every phone *must* have a SMS alert that is obnoxiously loud. |

I think the key word here is choice, you should be able to choose how loud tone you want, whatever the clever thinking of the engineers when it comes to respect etcetera. the problem is compounded in the T300 where I saw a thread saying that you won't get a vibrating alarm when you get your message...

You do get the vibra alert if you select "Tone" as the message alert. |

We all here want back the SE tone for sms, what is that on T68i and maybe P800, we canīt hear nothing, one thing is respect the other is no respect for people who sms you cause you never answer them cause you did not hear you have one there, bring back that old tone please. |

I personally agree with Rashkae. The tone is just fine no too loud, no too silent. In today's world almost anybody has a cellphone around you. Imagine if everybody had this stupid loud Nokia alerts!
And another reason that I don't mind that my T68 doesn't have polyphones, is because 90% of the time I have it to the vibra mode in my pocket, because I respect everybody around me at work, or on the train or wherever. When I am at home or in my car, I put it on normal ringtones. Ok that's only me. |

Hi...
Well, on the P800 you can set your own sound. DL one from your computer, and assign that. Star Trec, Shrech, whatever... your choice. Sample, DL, assign!
