This stuff, the "original glass care" for cars. It's a very thin, optically perfect wax for improving visibility on windows and lights.

It's also good for phones. I used this on all IR ports, and also the exposed camera lenses of my Motorola RAZR V3i and Nokia E50. It kept them scratch-free without impairing clarity one bit.
Apply a few drops to one end of a fresh Q-Tip and lightly rub onto the lens/port. Now "buff" slightly with the dry end of the Q-Tip. Repeat 2x. Now clean the lens/port + any excess around it as you would normally clean off smudges, oils, etc. from your phone. You'll now have a more scratch-resistant camera lens / IR port that's just as clear as before you did this.
