I found this site, http://www.eemobi.cn/ and they seem to sell some unknown smartphones really cheap. Do these work and sell worldwide and are they really what they claim to be?

Most of these phones are not fake. I was interested about those that claim to have Windows Mobile in them.. could they be better?

Illegal copies of windows mobile...lol don't go there !

What happens when something goes wrong with one of them (which it will) you have no aftersale support lol...

So you say that they don't have Microsoft's permission to use WM in their phones?

Give it a try and you'll see why it's cheap.

I wouldn't call them cheap copycats, maybe cheap, but not copycats.
Many are MTK-based phones that have their own software developed by chinese (basic platform bought from MTK).
The phones have pretty good build quality if you compare them with major brands like nokia etc.. Intregration level is pretty good, single board structure with dual CPUs, very thin design, displays are bright and colorfull.

Pictures of few true dual sim phones:

Those chinese mobile phones are not always fake, but one thing for sure : there are no smartphones.
Some of them may have touchscreen capabilities, but no third party OS (Symbian, WM, etc.) are inside, so they cannot be called "smartphones".
In fact, their UI is crap.
Have you try what they call "handswriting"? It's very funny.
When you write a character, for example, something like "a", then it appears on the screen some "match" characters like a, d, or alike, for you to choose, and you have to tap one of those characters in order to complete the words.

I have used http://www.comwise.com.hk/en/cp/d120.html

I have used also simplier MT6226 based phones, but these MT6227 and MT6228 are better. The touchscreen is marvellous after K800i and some other symbian phones. Especially some nokias are horrible.

I tried several times to take back my symbian phone, but Comwise d120 is so cosy to use. The screen is much better than my friendīs N95 when compared sidetoside. Ofcourse there is no 3G, but Operamini is very fast and touchscreen makes it more fast to use. adio/MP3 are good. And alarms and calendar is in use even the battery is off. The miniUSB is standard and needs no drivers. BT is stereotype.
Good phone for normal use.

The S/W on 'windows mobile' based chinese phones is definately not windows mobile. Its a generic firmware based system which looks a bit like windows mobile - i.e. icons are wm like and there exists a start menu etc...

But to anyone who has seen WM they are obviously fake...

Don't be fooled.

Though, the UI seemed pretty stable and ok...
