Anybody had any success with showing video on your phone?
I have a video recording program on my PC that records from a TV-tuner. I thought it would be neat to copy those files to my P800 to watch later.
The problem is, my software records, not in the .mp4 format, but in .wmv format. This means the videoprogram in the p800 can't play it.
I
s there any software available to convert to mp4???
Thanks in advance... |

Try VirtualDub.
No simple software, but can do many conversion at time (size, format, bitrate ...)

Try Zwei-Stein from http://www.thugsatbay.com/
Free, convert any format, but have a poor user interface.

You can try Mpegable S4... www.mpegable.com works great, but its only a 30 day trial, costs 300 USD! |

Well, after trying them out now, I realize that non of them help me, i.e I haven't found a way to convert: (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Quicktime can't play .wmv-files
That german thing could output as wmv, not input
Virtual can't play .wmv-files
A few weeks ago someone here claimed that there would come a software with the P800 to convert. I can see that it wasn't included in the package I got, but anyone got any other info? |

Well, using WinMPG to convert to avi and then using mpegable S4 to convert to mp4 it works! I can even read the subtitles!
The downside is that is very timeconsuming. THe whole converting took some time even though the clip was only three minutes.
Thanks for helping! |

I've had sucess with Quicktime Pro 6 converting to MPEG4, but not with audio.
The settings are:
Audio - none
160x120 res
32kbits/s
Compatibility - ISMA 56kbps
This works most of the time.
Apple have made some announcement around the special GSM audio codec, so hopefully it'll support this soon. |

wmv is Microsoft... not many open source developers make tools that supports such a format |

try higher res one of my biggest complaints about the spv was that it does only do 160x120 video at 10 fps (or 15... but thats choppy as hell) whats your framerate?
