I guess this is a daft post but what is it for? I guess it's where the internal antenna is but why is the case molding like that? It's almost as if you could press that little oval in but I don't suppose you are meant to?

Also, whilst we are on the subject, what are the two small holes on the top and the single, longer hold on the right hand side for...?

The small hole to the left of the data/power connector is the microphone hole...?

The button on top is for changeing the faceplate... The hold to the left is to kill the eco on the microphone!

Ahh, so it does press in then!

Wrt to hole on the side - kill the echo from the mic? Just to get rid of internal acoustics or something?

And the 2 hole on the top is to attach the string on the IBT-20 and the laserpoint.

OK, I have an even dopier question: I bought a couple of new faceplates on eBay, but I can't get the original cover off. Am I supposed to be doing something other than pressing the "button" on top, and trying to pry the thing apart? It's so resistant that I'm afraid of breaking it. Am I just being a wus?

HELP!

no, it just pops off.
but it's really snug so it's hard to take it off. the first time i took one off it felt like it was gonna break... ..but it wont. use a little force.

it didnt really say "press on" the sides, instead "pull away" at the sides.

I actually had to slide something thin down the seam as I pulled apart. No small feat. I broke a nail, dammit!

Thanks again for your help. This site rules, by the way.

@ ferrarista, the press on the sides thing is coming from someone that DOES NOT have a t300. So obviously u have to forgive me. :-o
