I have noticed over the last few days that all online users have a blue box in the bottom left of their name, like this...

Although I have just built up my new PC so I don't know if it is a change to esato or ie 6 playing up since I havn't downloaded firefox yet.

So, which is it

This is because IE6 doesn't support transparent images!

Better explanation needed...

IE6 doesn't render PNG files using a transparent layer, also called the Alpha layer. The "Online" signs are partly transparent PNG files. The blue stuff you see is the part of the image, that is transparent. This has been fixed with IE7, however.

you could always download IE7 or AvantBrowser
I use a mix of both. AvantBrowser for my main set of regularly opened windows and IE7 for ad-hoc

Yeah, I will download ie 7 too. I just like all my add-ons in firfox for everyday browsing, they just make life alot easier (and look better with 3D tab effect and coloured tabs)
