First of all... next time making a thread... think of a more detailed name...

Secondly... no.. you dont have? to charge it for 12 hours...
a good 1hr will do if you wont use it excessively... most mobiles work straight away without charging!

But I think if you want to optimise the batterylife, you have to charge it fully the 5-10 first times.

Initial charge MOSTLY only take 4-6 hours ! Succeeding ones will already SUFFICE if the battery ICON says - fully charge (takes normally between 1-1.5 hours) ! [addsig]

I agree with boba ! I made a TEST back then to SEE if there's any difference when charging a fone in: OFF and ON mode, and made a shocking discovery that fone's charged in OFF mode lasts (battery) looonger than that when charge in: ON mode

One more thing, it is very adviseable to CHARGE the fone when it HITS already the warning-battery-icon (yellow) sign, most preferrably the RED one . . . but NOT fully drained. As I found out too that batts charged in this status results a looonger battery life (after charging) .. . [addsig]

Aren't old types like Ni-MH and Ni-Cd with that infamous "memory effect"? Thus reducing battery's life. On Li-Ion and the new Li-Polymer shouldn't be that problem anymore, meaning you can charge anytime, right?

Just asking, there are quite few different opinions all over the net.

what you mean i made a mistake charging it for the first time with the phone on???
Or is it just to last longer?(when i say it will last longer i mean for example 3-4 days on standby)

You are absolutely right on that. 99 percent of all phones today make use of the good batteries. The 12/24 hour charge thing is a MYTH these days and there is nothing to it anymore. This just shows that the place where you got your phone knows nothing about this and that they are stuck in the past.

Thanx!

I share your opinion. That's why loads of money goes on developing batteries

yah jojo youre right, try charging your battery (red status) while the phone is on and if you see it will start and 50% of the battery in the indicator is already filled up..its better if you charged it while its off [addsig]
