Just got myself a 6500 slide. It seems that there is a 256mb CF card installed by default. However, when I go to "menu->settings->synch&backup" and I hit "make backup" it tells me that no memory card is in place...

So is there a problem with the CF card ? Is there another way where I can see for example how much space I have left on the external card ? When I go to "menu->Settings->Phone" I have a option "memory status" but this only indicates the phone status (or should it indicate the CF space as well ? ...)

Thanks in advance

Ok, first of all, it IS NOT a CF card, it's MicroSD.

Secondly, try formatting the memory card and try it again, or try a different MicroSD card.
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for.

The problem was that the back cover must be in place before the phone recognizes the microSD card. So without the backcover the phone is working normally, but the card isn't read. Its probably some kind of protection that when you remove the backcover access to the card is denied (is not mentioned in the manual however....)

Thanks anyway.
