Over bright pictures after cleaning lens ( |

I had a finger print on my lens so I got the cleaning cloth and cleaned it then I noticed that the multicote has worn off from the middle of the lens and it seemed like a big scratch. My phone is a K750, what do I do now? The photos I take after this incident tend to be bighter and cause more noise Can't I just replace the lens?
Thanks |

The multicoating reduces flare on pictures, which is probably why they're appearing to be brighter.
The actual lens isn't realistically replaceable, but the camera unit itself can be replaced though you'd need to take the phone apart to do this. You can get replacement camera unit's quite cheaply off Ebay or cnn.cn, though avoid any non-genuine items.

Hi Chirantha
I would not use cnn.com if i were you as although they advertise lots of things as OEM they rarely are, i have just seen so many horror stories about them. Many people say they are great even if not supplying OEM parts but IMO if it says OEM and that's what you are paying for that's what you should receive. If on the other hand you are not worried about it actually being an OEM part then they are cheap but you only get what you pay for.

first of all, this is not lens!
lens is small "dot" behind this what you cleaned
you cleaned protection glass/plastic which is some kind of filter... yes, filter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filter_(photography)
filter is possible to replace by other
you rubbed off coat and this probably is affecting on photos quality. i have almost the same problem with my K750. now i'm thinking about good substitute, my idea: i want to buy photographic filter and go to optican to cut it to fit in camera module. question is what type of filter is necessary? unfortunatly almost no one has experience in this matter. in my opinion this can be polarizing filter

Well, the filter is made of glass I think. its not scratched! the multicote has just worn off after the cleaning. I live in Sri Lanka so I can't seem to buy stuff from the internet. I will ask the SE service center and ask them what I should do. So glad to here that I didn't scratch the lens! |

I called the service center and they said the Camera module is like $70 but a new K750 is like only $190 here :| so the cost of the camera is like 35% of the phone |
