Camera flash on K800i |

I have done a search for this on the history but couldn't find anything. Sorry, if it has been done...
I was given a K800i yesterday and used to have a K750i. I have found an issue with the camera flash. On my old phone pressing * would put the flash on like a torch so I can see what I am taking a photo of. It would then flash brighter and take the photo. On this phone, I cannot find a way to get the light to come on like a torch for seeing what I am taking. In the booklet, it says pressing * activates the flash and when I press it it switches between flash and red eye but does not come on until I take the photo.
Is this how it is meant to be? If so, I reckon I will go back to my old phone as most of my photos are taken when I am out in clubs and that and so it's a bit useless on that front!!
Any help much appreciated.

you cant light up the xenon flash because it will drain your battery really fast., about the red eye reduction., the camera flash flashes 2 times |

I honestly can't beleive that! I'd rather have the flash from my K750i. Well, looks like my boyfriend is getting a better phone than he thought!
Thanks for the quick reply though. |

By the way, are there any other SE phones you can think of where this is a problem? I like SE and will buy another one of theirs.
Thanks again. |

high end cybershot phones (eg the k800/810i and k850. the k850i does have a flash light like the k750 as well as the xenon flash)
K700i > K750i > K810i (current phone)

You can install torch java application and use the red flash as a light

It adjusts the focus with a red focus light and then takes the photo with the xenon flash.
Xenon flashes are much better for pictures, you know. Only downside is that you can't use a xenon flash as a torch. |

On my K800i xenon flash is NOT WORKING.
I tried everything to switch it on, no success.
Is that some big problem? How can I fix it??
Thanks in advance.

You can still take a picture in clubs. The K800 will flash up the red focus light for long enough to compose the picture, and also for the lens to focus.
If you think about it, "real" digicams don't have a light such as K750, they only have a flash, yet they work in clubs

The xenon flash on the K80i is a lot brighter than the light on the K750i. It is the same sort of flash that you get on a normal camera.

I don't own a digital camera. I like to see what I am photographing before taking the picture otherwise you could miss stuff out. Well, I could and frequently do!!
I am sticking with my K750i and have given my boyfriend the K800i. He's happy with that since his phone was a Nokia 6 something or other. I might get the 850i or I like the new slidey one.
Thanks for all your replies and merry christmas.

K750 is a good phone but considering to upgrade to K850 is wise thing to do, but wait till they release new firmware |
