i didnt' have problems with downloading data from my laptop. my usual problem is connecting to the internet. (i can connect to the network, but I can't reach the sites. dns problem???)

i dont think this would be the best place to ask about GPRS settings for the 8310. you may have noticed that it's an forum.

Your smtp-server should probably be your phone-operators smtp-adress, not you internet-providers.

And use the ip-number instead of the name of the smtp-server.

Works for me

I have been using by email SP's IMAP and SMTP servers without problems.

And use the ip-number instead of the name of the smtp-server.
this can actually work if it's the DNS server youre having problems with

OT Ferrarista paki-pasa naman yung PM ni gobrutz.

ciao

GOWIN : I believe the settings are very different, depending on internet-provider, country and phone-operator. I see all sorts of combinations,..some combinations work for some people, but not for others

I can't use my email-providers smtp-server,..only my phone-operators.

And I can't use the smtp-name,..I have to use the ip-number.

Yes, that is most likely the case. That is why my intention for this thread is to focus on GPRS users of PCs/Laptops from the philippines.

It wouldn't mean the rest are not welcome, we can always pick a thing or two from other discussions.

I have always been in favor of sticking to the substance of the thread, GOwin is right. I hope others wouldn't mind. Just a courtesy to new viewers of the forum so they are not misled.

If I myself deviated from the topics previously, kindly accept my apology. We can always use the Private message provision if we are not sure.

Ferrarista44:

Yes you can, but if you can't use gprs you can use option 2(thru GSM data) in my previous posting in this thread. Your phone will dial the ISP dial up number instead of Globe wap number. You will pay for the gsm data and ISP access charges.

hey guys, need some help, im planning to buy a Compaq Presario 1714, 1 GHz, 256RAM, 20G HD, DVD driver, 14.1" screen with Windows XP, it has no IrDA nor a bluetooth features but, that i can handle... but for the Windows XP?? i heard that other guys have a problem synchronizing their T68 with that.

and also, is anybody has an idea of how much is that or any of 1700 series there, here its something like P68,000 when you convert it with P13.6 exchange rate.. i think its much cheaper here, but i would be wrong...

or any advice of what will i buy with the same price range of the same specs that is very compatible with T68...

tnx, Goodbye!

no internal IrDA? XP? akkk .. forget it.

the specs looks cool except for the missing IrDA, you should consider other models. Some Toshiba models with comparable specs (with IrDA pa) is being sold at a lower price. Errr .. you probably know about the track record of Toshiba naman no?

tnx GOWin, i try to look for Toshiba, as also being my first option, that is on "sale". the main reason why i plan to buy that 1714 because of its original price reduced by 30%
