The S710a (black casing) is the N. American twin of the S700i (silver casing). Its bands should be 850, 1800, and 1900.
Rogers, a Canadian GSM carrier, was the exclusive there for the S710a. They use 850/1900. R2A016 is the latest Rogers firmware, at least according to this.
Having said all that, why is the phone's Service Info reporting 900 MHz instead of 850? Do I have some strange hybrid with the S700i's radios?
I bought this phone, New in Box, from a supposedly reputable eBay seller. It is black, has only the Americas-1 languages, and shows the correct firmware and branding. It's detecting my carrier (AT&T), yet not showing EDGE (which I have in my area).
