Right, this isn't my problem of course and I'm sure that Laffen is looking into it. But this is related to my line of work as many of you know so it has intrigued me a little and I love trying to solve computer problems so I can't help sticking my nose in!
Just to be absolutely sure, can you all try adding http://esato.com to your browser's trusted sites? Just as a test. From what I've read, it could easily be a server-side PHP / MySQL problem so don't be surprised if it makes no difference whatsoever.
I'm just dying to find out what's causing it! Apparantly, some PHP / MySQL systems that share user login information do not always work very well together so if we can totally eliminate the cookie theory, that would be a big help.
As I said, I'm sure Laffen will sort this soon and he certainly doesn't need my input at all but if you wouldn't mind trying it anyway in the meantime, you'd certainly be helping me

@QVGA
Yeah, forgot to mention that it only applies to IE but I think (I'm not sure) that firefox uses IE's trusted zones when running on windows. I'll test it out later

You can give it a try now. I have done some changes, but are not sure if they will affect you. I have never had any trouble signing in. I am checking in IE, Firefox, Opera and Safari. No problem at all for me, and that makes it difficult to debug. |

I can tick the "remember me" box untill i'm blue in the face, i ALWAYS get logged out of Esato whenever i depart from it.
It matters not if i use any one of three browsers i use, i frequent 30 different forums, 18 hours per day, Esato is the ONLY one i have to sign back into when i revisit it.
It's a problem with this site, not anyone's browser settings or prefs IMO.

So is it still doing it now after Laffen's changes, mweb? I don't think it's browser settings either but I just don't get why it only happens on certain computers.

Yeah, Cyco, i just closed the browser, then reloaded it, all my forum tabs loaded up with me signed in, except for Esato, as per usual. i'm used to it after 3 years so i'm not stressing over it.

Absolutely bonkers! I wish one of my sheds would do it, then I could mess around and try to find out what's causing it. Yes, I am that sad
I still reckon it has to be something to do with modems / routers and PHP sessions...

This is from what Ive been observing the past 48 hours. When I brouse from opera I dont get this problem but then as soon as I switch to my default browser I get it. I logged ing but when I want to make a reply it requires my username and password. I think the problem is browser related.
