I've had my K700i for well over 2 years now, and over time (like any phone) the battery life has decreased. Another issue I've noticed is the battery connectors on the bottom of the phone have become dodgy somewhat, and previously for me to charge the phone I've had to wiggle the charger to a strange angle for the pins to make contact.

However, today; having left the phone for a few weeks - the phone will not charge.

I have tried everything imaginable to make it charge. I've taken the old T610 charger and used that, taken the battery out, put it back in, no power to the handset whatsoever. Not even the charging screen, the phone refuses to turn on. The charger is NOT at fault because, regardless to me using two of them, I took out a piece of kit that shows electric current and I'm getting the required reading. So whys the phone not charging? Anyone else had this problem, and if so, how do we overcome it?

Thats the problem. I can't turn the phone on at all, and have no cable or such as to flash it. I'd be alright if I did.

@masseur: Thanks. I shall try this, but we'll have to wait and seee. Poor K700i.

not every SE problem can be solved by the standard answer of flashiing firmware. Indeed I'm sure I have never seen a charging issue solved by firmware update

actually Seal, you say you have tried everything but though you mention dodgy contacts you don't mention cleaning the contacts as these often become oxidised and cause such problems

a light dab and clean with an alcohol based fluid may sort this out

clean the connectors with spirit/alcohol(IPA) not the one that you use for drinking.
Pour a drop or two on the toothbursh and clean the connectors.

I shall give it a try, by all means. But in case this fails, what could it be? The battery or handset? [addsig]

Alas, it does not want to work Thanks for the replies, but it still refuses to accept any power going to it. [addsig]

I'm surprised the cleaning with alcohol didn't work; I would've sworn this would sort it. [addsig]

Clean the charging ports on the connector with the charging pins on the charger too.
If you know to get the faceplate off, pull out the connector clean it and put it back in.
