K850i Poor Sound Quality + Slow! |

My micro sd 8GB just arrived today. I quickly copied 7GB songs in it and plugged into my K850i. It takes a long time (about 4 mins) to get to 100% loading progress. When I try to navigate in the music player, it takes 5 seconds to show the singers/albums if i scroll down more than 5 lines each time... this is unacceptable...
For sound quality, I'm using the Bose top of the range noise cancelling headphone, QuietComfort® 3, so the sound quality is very good. However, it seems the K850i produces some sort of artifact noise... it is obvious when I enable the manual equaliser with high level bass setting. There is a kind of noise trail the bass sound in all songs (very notable in quiet songs)...
one more thing, i hate the buggy firmware!! if i ever use the zoom buttom in the camera mode, the volume key will never work thereafter unless i reboot the phone...
updated: it is not the mp3 file quality issue as I have just tried on my K800i and there isn't such issue at all!! i also tried my sony earphone (MDR-EX85), very good quality earphone, producing the same sound artifacts with K850i while none with K800i... i have also tried using preset equaliser settings, they seem ok. so it is definitely a k850i software issue with Manual Equaliser! Also, I have upgraded my phone's firmware from 29 to 37, the problem has not improved.
I used w800i and k800i before and sound quality with manual equaliser was not an issue... k850i somehow disappointed me...

is it ok if you use equalizers instead of mega bass? |

it is the customise equaliser dat causes artificial noise!
i don't like the megabass, it's exaggerate the bass way too much and made the music unrealistic!! |

another problem is, the customise equaliser will always be switched back to normal setting when the music is stoped and music player is closed... so i've gotta enable the customise equaliser everytime i play music... |

Here goes minimal thread-jack. I read your review and it was pretty good. But it seems to me that the thread was locked not because it gave a true review on the k850. But because it was going to end up as another nokia vs se thread. |

Wait for a good firmware to come out. k850 has not reached its full stability potential. |

sometime the problem is not on your phone, but on your music file.
is it converted correctly?

personally, i think Bose's line of headphones (most of them) suck!
i think the k850i has not bad sound imo, though its no DAP sound quality!

@arunvc
Bose home theatre systems are great, its their headphones where they have gone wrong! (a few of them)......
And did you ever think the k850i might not be able to power the headphones properly? Some mp3 players might not even be able to power certain headphones, thats why we have such things calld "amps".....

Well said by 'Marbolec', check and cross check if any of your music files are corrupted or incorrectly converted or any such irregularity. If thats hard to do(7gb of stuff), then try copying the songs via any music managing software that might have come along with your phone. |

offtopic: the week found on the battery, is it the battery date or also the phone's date?
