I was thinking of buying some sort of gps thing to connect to my K800i, mainly so I could have fun messing round with it, and was wondering which ones people would recomend.

Is the Sony Ericsson HGE-100 plug in device any good? Or is it better to go for a bluetooth one, and if so which one?

Will the HGE-100 appear in the accessories menu option and bluetooth devices will not? Will this affect which java apps they will work with?

The free Tracker and GPS Locator apps from sony ericsson look nice and flashy, but will they work with a bluetooth gps device? And are there any good java apps that people would recomend.

Sorry for asking a lot of questions.

Thanks for any help!

I've had a look at that topic, but i'm a bit unsure. I guess the HGE-100 doesn't really work with any java apps apart from the SE ones at least at the moment. But will any bluetooth gps devices work with the two free demo java apps?

Do any bluetooth gps devices appear under the accessories menu, or do they all have to be discovered within java applications?

Thanks again.

@ziggyzaggy: Tracker & GPS location only works with HGE-100. Today only SE accessories appear under the Accessory menu (i.e. no BT GPS).

The free Java app TrekBuddy (http://www.trekbuddy.net/) works with HGE-100. I have not tested it yet, but you should be able to import maps from Google Maps (e.g. over Chennai), and it won't use Internet connection in your phone (i.e. no extra charge...)

Cool, that sounds good to me! Which bluetooth gps device would you recomend at prices around £30, or would you say the HGE-100?

Thanks again!
