Still, 8 megapixel CCD sensor camera in a mobile phone - that’s a really interesting piece of news. I guess now that Chinese have it, it’s only a matter of (not much) time until we see something similar in a handset made by one of the biggies.
Let me make a prediction and say: never.

to be honest, the images arent that sharp and good.... so its CCD , so what?

That phone camera is amazing, but they're sure not the first in the world, to produce 8 MP CCD phone.
Do you all remember this wonder from Korea & Japan, released in 2006?
Samsung SPH-V8200 (8 MP CCD)
Samsung were also first with every other camera phone except 2 MP, where they were beaten by Casio with their first 2 MP phone back in 2003.
Casio HS7000 (2 MP) I think it was CCD sensor!

p.s. Although I would never ever buy a phone just because of it's great camera again. I've learned my lesson with i-mobile 902.

well , I would.
I use the phone for calls and camera,so what else do I need ? nothing.
actually, a better shutter speed would have made the 902 a perfect device. |

The phone is now available on eBay but for almost 500 USD... I'd rather buy two i-mobile 902's for that price and keep the second as a spare...
