I posted a thread about 2 months ago asking for advice on getting a new low-end handset to replace my k810i because I just cant get to grips with it. After not getting much response and most people recommending me not to sell it to down grade to something “worse” I have decided to extend my budget and look for something a little more in the mid to high end of the market. My problem is choosing a new phone because it seems that almost every phone I’ve looked at has some sort of problem. I know this is a SE forum so you guys are mainly going to suggest SE handsets but I am interested in trying anything to get away from my k810i hell!

Anyway I guess I should list my wants/needs and budget so you guys can try and help me. I have about £50-£80 to spend and obviously the k810i handset to sell/trade to add to the price, I’m interested in a phone that is basic to use, is stylish (I know that style is personal opinion, I just don’t want something that looks like a kids toy), has good quality call sound, can use mp3’s as ring tones/message alerts and a camera.

So far I have been looking at the LG Viewty, Nokia 8600 Luna, Nokia 6500 Classic and the SE w910i but like I said I’m open and interested in looking at anything,

N81, N76, RAZR2, G600 are your best bets. They are all very good phones.

The k770i looks nice but bright purple or brown seem.... well poor colours in my opinion, shame it doesn't come in black.

The n81 looks awesome and i could go for the cheaper none 8GB version too

The N76 looks nice but its a flip-phone and i'm not a big fan of them (had a few break in the past etc) but wouldn't rule it out just yet

I wont buy Motorola after having two (l7 and k1) both have to be retired in the space of a year due to microphone faults

The G600 looks very nice, i haven't had a Samsung for years now but there old interface sucked!

The w850i looks good in white and for around £100 it fits perfectly in to my price range

6300 looks good and has a nice price tag too, i dont know how i over looked it lol!

Thanks for the Advice so far guys, hopefully i should be able to sell my k810i and put that money towards something nice (how much do they go for btw?)

/Ste

Oh and i forgot to ask:

I know i said i wated help picking a new phone, but just incase i decide to go with something you guys haven't listed i thought i would ask for a short list of phones in this price range to avoid.

You may like to consider LG viewty.
Nice phone, pretty loud music and most of all, a 5.1mp camera.
Well, if you don't mind an-all touchscreen phone. (;

n81 isn't bad too.
i my k850i and w800i

From the recommendations so far, I'd pick the 6300 or the K770, they both look pretty good, but personally I'll prefer the K770. Have not heard of any complains about it so far, not as much as some other models at least.

I thinks its between the Viewty, n81, 8600 Luna or the w960i

The only thing is i don't really need music because i have an iPod Touch, but i prefer the looks of the new SE W range over the K series (the k850i is horrid imo). My last 4 phones have all been SE (D750i, w810i, k800i and k810i) so to change manufactures will be hard because i am so use to the layout of SE phones, but the latest SE handsets just don't seem to grab me like the D750i did so i'm having a hard time making the decision and the price of the new handsets (all of them not just SE) makes me want to take my time and make sure i pick the right phone for me because i will more then likely have to use it for at least 8-12 months,

Going to W960 from all those previous phones is exactly like changing the manufacturer, becaue W960 has a totally different GUI, so you're not loosing anything there, so might as well go for the better N81.
