In all seriousness, cause this has happened to me many times, a slide phone makes sense.
Flip phones involve you trying to open it and dropping it in a pint/on the floor/down the drain/into your friends hands etc.
Candy bars require unlocking (i've been there, Menu and * is fine when your sober, but when the keys are moving...!)
Swivel phones, well, they swivel pretty much out of your hand and then suffer the same fate as the flip phones...
Something with big, large keys and a 'write new message' short cut are good. My 5300 allows me to text almost as fast as I can when I'm sober, so I suspect even when I buy my new phone, because of it's low low resell value I'll just keep it for a few nights out.
Voice dialing is a no no, obviously
Large screen naturally, a good size QVGA screen thats well lit is a must really. Oh, and bloody loud ringtones or a very strong vibrate help.

yes, thats the problem, its not your overly drunken attitude that might scare them away, its definitely the phone

A guy with a nice phone is always a good topics of conversation imo! But maybe thats coz I'm a bit of a geek
If I saw a guy with a P1....I'd want a bit of a play

I think QVGA's response sums up differing attitudes to alcohol - in the UK it's seen as acceptable and even socially encouraged to get off your face, whilst everywhere else it's more social and people know when to stop
I'm not judging btw, just making an observation! And I'm off topic so will be quiet now!

Don't use a P900, I fell on me arse one fateful night after a glass of white zinfandel, and my mate landed on top of me with a yowling roar of "PILEUP!" and put his elbow right through the screen.

i think, if i saw a guy in a club with a good, high spec phone, i'd think there would be a good converation point with them.
