hi, i'm not asking for solutions cos its pretty clear that k850i is still being improved with the newer firmwares
here's just a list of some strange errors i experienced...maybe some of you with k850i have experienced it before too..
1) camera lens auto-shutter not opening
(last thing i did before this happened was copied some files to my memory card, or changing the default mode to video with light on so i can see in the dark at night)
-sony ericsson center (in Singapore) remedy was to change my firmware to the same 029 version, but seems to have chinese input text...
-i had another error so i reformatted phone myself so i have the old firmware...but so far no lens problems even after putting files in the mem card
2) Phone auto shutdown during 1) transferring files from computer to memory card (in all phone transfer modes), and 2) when playing video playback with a large list of files
-no remedy for this, seems to happen once in a while.....doesnt seem to happen after deleting the file list of videos which caused the problem.
-happens mostly during long bulk transfer of files as well
-the auto shutdown is not a normal one as in there is no startup sonyericsson animation, just black screen for about 5-8 seconds and then back to the main menu and searching for network. unable to press on and off button during this period.
3) Contact List (Phone & SIM) disappeared, unable to add new contacts or synchronize with PhoneExplorer or PC Suite or restore backup from memory card. Error that says: Not enough phone memory. (phone memory free at the time = 35mb, mem card memory free = 200+mb)
-happened after transferring large amount of video files into the memory card as well...
-remedy was to do a full format of the phone (resetting settings, restarting phone doesnt work.)
4) After setting phonebook pictures (from memory card pics) to each contact , I deleted the whole picture folder in the memory card to store higher resolution ones. But the old phonebook pictures were still attached to the contacts and stored in some hidden memory location in the phone that i am unable to delete.
-after changing to the new high resolution pics, i can still see a 'ghost' folder in the phone (duplicate 'Pictures') folder with some pics inside that i cannot remove while connecting the phone to pc...
-had to reset phone to get rid of this.
5) not really a problem but i saw this somewhere in the forum: Problems with setting Birthday Alarms in contacts.
-when using PhoneExplorer to synchronize old calendar lists of birthday alarms, the birthday alarm transferred will be stored as a Recurrent Event with the title 'Birthday' of the said contact.
-the k850i has a different Birthday alarm with a message...to use this instead, you have to delete the birthday in each contact from the phone, and re-enter their birthdays...
-both recurrent alarms and the k850i birthday alarm are practically the same thing, except the latter has a nice picture and some options for you to message your contact.
As for the various camera and flash problems; im not listing it cos i dont mess around much with the camera...and you can find them elsewhere in this forum. |
