So both microsd & the memory stick micro are available in 8gb form.

Which one to buy?

All things being equal pick the cheapest, but it looks like they might not be.

M2 has a faster read speed by far. Would this improve functionality in the k850? It's fairly slow reading from my 4gb microsd & I fear 8 would only make it slower.

I can't find anything in the specs that tells you the read speeds of SE phones.

Thoughts?

Well, some people always say the latest big card is slow to read, but I've never found that myself. For example, when 2GB MSDP came out, some people with K750's were claiming that it was much slower than 1GB, but I never saw that in my K750. I think what's slower, is that if you had 1GB of music to load up while browsing the card, then it would take a little longer to load up the 2GB card simply because there is more stuff on it (if it's full). But that's not the read spead in operation which is no different. I notice no speed difference what so ever between my 1 and 2GB cards. I do notice the initial load up delay, but as said, I think this is natural since their are more file names to load into memory. But the actual performance once the directory contents are loaded, is no different to the 1GB.

Likewise the 2GB m2 in my K800.
