well, beside the OBVIOUS number after the letter N, what would be the difference between Nokia N95 and N82? specification-wise, it's exactly the same.

so far the differences I see are:
- N95 has a slider form and N82 is just a plain block form (cosmetic)
- N82 has the auto rotate thing like iPhone (and SE K850) while N95 doesn't
- N82 slightly is larger and heavier in size compared to N95
- N95's display screen is larger than N82 (2.4 inches vs 2.2 inches?)
- different color (again, cosmetic difference)

anybody else can add to the list?

I would like to know if the auto rotate thing is real, because I've tried to search Nokia's website for it and didn't find any picture referring to it. anybody can help me out? THANKS!!

@bulukaki

Well your not quite right as the N95 8GB that you are comparing it to actually has a 2.8" QVGA and that is quite a difference, also the N82 is longer but slightly thinner. The Auto rotate will also be possible on the N95 8GB as Nokia have now released the API for the Accelerometer, otherwise you are right they have the same specifications.

I've got auto rotate on my N96 8gb had to install it and a plug in so the phone can use the accelerometer.

My mistake. The only things then are the zenon flash, bigger battery - especially in relation to screen size and 60mb less internal memory than the N95-1. It does have much more ram but with the new demand paging this makes no practical difference

The N82 has 2,4 inch screen. The auto rotate is real, works well.

Dogmann, I believe the accelerometer API is native in N95's OS(9.2 s603.1) but a developer had thought that he could make an application to enable N95 to autorotate using that native support - perhaps the reason triggering him to do that was because of his fancy for iPhone and K850 autorotate feature but wanting to retain N95's features

N82 renders N95 obsolete

N82 looks ugly(color wise) and has less user-friendly, worse keypad. people would prefer the most important thing before they stare at the specs: that's user firendliness and ergonomics

Yeah but most wouldnt pay 200$ or something more for merely a better keypad.

hi

i would like to add my contibution to the list,
there is one major similarity between these two

Difference
N82 Xenon Flash-better camera startup click/saving time
N95 -Bigger screen to watch movies with slide media keys

N82-its what cameras have become
n95-its what computers have become

Similarity
Both are best phones ever made

N82 is a 2door car and a N95 is a 4 door sedan
