As I have seen, people make lots of threads regarding phones in asia pacific. They scarcely have 20 replies. So I'm creating this thread for discussion about phones, their functions, tips and tricks ,and the best deal.Specially for Indians.Others can post as well.I've heard of a "recharge without electric trick" which works only for nokias and requires a magnetic strip. If you didn't think so,think again.I was very interested in electricity and magnetism when I was 8 years old.I always thought and beleived that magnetic energy can one day be a pollution-free source of energy. It's just an example. Will discuss after one or two visits are there. You can discuss about phones even if it's not nokia so come in! |

probably if you run a battery up and down over a magnetic strip it would recharge the battery a little, through inductance, but it would be a very innefficient way of charging a battery.
However I agree with you that one day they will find a way to effieciently utilise magnetism for power. Currently, the best they can manager is dynamos, that can turn other forms of energy, such as wind, water and rotation, into electyrical energy. But what is hopeful, they may eventually be able to harness the energy in the magnetic field of the earth, which would provide a virtually endless supply of energy. But as yet they can only harness very small amounts of energy from the magnetic field.

King,it's not a recharge for sim.It's a recharge for a battery.Whatever it was,it hasn't worked for me.The price of n70 here is Rs9699 while n72 is 9399!Strange but I can't buy them. |

I'm afraid it's impossible to 'harness the energy in the magnetic field of the earth' and I'm sorry but magnetism will never provide a pollution free source of energy.
Magnetic induction is potentially able to transfer electrical current wirelessly, but this is a 'holy grail' type technology which has been dreamed about since the days of Marconi (the guy who invented radio) and has yet to be realised.
Its well known that if you pass an electro-magnet thru the field of a permanent magnet, you will create an electrical current. This is how an alternator works to charge the 12V battery in your automobile. The trouble is getting enough energy out for the cost involved, that's why portable electrical generators run on... petrol or deisel. Solar power is your best bet, in about 50 yrs from now.

Let's turn this thread to a physical science research and discussion thread!I've heard that even CARS run on solar cells or photovoltaic cells these days.Possibly is a good way to recharge car batteries...[quote]

Yeah...but I don't take it as a good idea...as already, people say that radio waves are effecting the nature in many ways...Still..I think that green coconuts had the affection for viruses...still... |

The easiest solution for phone charging I've heard of was a clockwork-type device where 1 minute of winding would provide about 1hr of power supply. Simple.

I wrote:Good Idea! But the power of a clock is too weak. It's best to use a spring inside the clock like the olden hand-winded clocks. But if they create a multi-spring which, with one minute of winding would provide with 4minutes of high-power playback which has enough power to overcharge a phone... |
