I just found a great bar code reading app for windows mobile much like the one in the N95 (see this thread for examples of these bar codes)
Its called i-nigma
On the N95 you aim the camera and wait, and wait and eventually, if you are lucky, it will work.
With this one you can almost just wave the bar code past the camera and while holding the phone in any orientation and it just works almost immediately!

I have to say that the barcode scanner for the N95-8Gb is so much more stable than the original N95 maybe it was a software update that fixed it but right up to v12 it was touch and go.
I can get an instant lock on any QR code in seconds with the N95 and also the lack of camera lens shutter has helped speed this up vastly.
