Is there any way to have a long exposure on the cybershot phones so that we can take pictures of the stars going around/busy intersection at night...?

Or, how about something that takes a picture every 30sec or something (well, it'd be cool if you could specify the time delay).. that way you could get neat time lapse stuff...

Or is this just too complex for our cellphones?!

Long exposure is not possible on SE camera phones, AFAIK. But if you're interested in taking star photos then you don't need *very* long exposures, just a lot of pictures, which you then "stack" (merge together) in Photoshop or any other photo editing software which allows stacking.

Timed photos would be possible if you could control the camera remotely but for that you need a smartphone.

Ahh ok. Could you not have a preset timer on the phone just to leave it?

Maybe an application?
