Do I wait for At&t to pickup k850i/a? |

At&t will be getting the k850i/a(they list it as a "a" version.) in march 08', which is huge here in the states.(Always been jealous of your european phone selection from your carriers.) So do I wait till march? It will be anywhere from $199.99 to $299.99 with 2 year contract. Or do I buy it now for $494.00? If I get it from At&t I will obviously de-brand/unlock it. Both unlocked and At&t version will hopefully have the bugs worked out by march. Just wondering what you all think. Currently have a w810 from At&t which I unlocked/de-branded. Love it, just don't know how long I can wait to get my hands on k850i. Worth the wait? |

I read several posts that said T-day and T-day has gone by. Now it is March '08. I wonder if they will hold that date.
There was a similar situation with the Nokia N80 (if I am not wrong) and it never made it through any of the US carriers and Nokia ended up selling the N80 through their outlets and online store.

K850i/a? Could this mean the K850i is so bug ridden that they are releasing better version already?? |

I wouldn't mind Nokia if it weren't for the symbian OS and the battery-life. N82's talk-time is worse than that of the n95. (I do alot of driving). I do like the looks of n82 despite its size. Prefer candybars. Briefly had a n73 and the freezes/crashes /restarts drove me crazy. Is symbian OS faster/more stable now? I don't need a smartphone.
Seems to be alot of issues with k850i, wondering if its mostly to do with the branded versions because my friend has had not a single problem with his unlocked one. Do you think At&t will really skip on the k850i? Here's links to what I read:

heres the best piece of advice i can give you:
wait till at&t carries it. it allows you to return the handset several times easily like our european counterpart subsidised phones.
if you buy a buggy phone now (highly likely), returning/exchanging it would be a headache

wow at & t are getting some serious phones now, this is really good news, i too am tired of getting phones off websites etc, its such a chore when something is wrong with the phone.
Im with T mobile but i seriously may have to switch if they get something consistent with AT & T at Sony Ericsson |

August
I think that is the wise decision. Hopefully they'll have any firmware/build-quality issues worked out by then. TY
Donjuan,
Yeah At&t seem to be getting a clue, out of all the US carriers. By me there is only one dead spot and only US carrier working with 3G as far as I know.(still expanding) They're carrying quite a few SE's lately. Bout' time. |
