google news intervening at esato forum . . . |

I am NOT so sure about this . . . but when I was making a REPLY in the Other Manufacturer's Thread . . . I was surprised to SEE (after accessingsome other sites . . . as my WINDOW is OPEN to at LEAST 20 per internet session  ) that Google News Webpage suudenly appeared  I am sure that I did NOT open the Google site that's why I was shocked to see that ! So, I just hit the BACK-button then the page returned back to Esato Forum (after making a reply/post) . . . I forgot to make a SCREEN-shot as PROOF of evidence . . . 
Has anyone of your here experienced this

Opera mini 4 does my head in...
Click reply with quote, and the next screen will be some random esato page, or occasionally, some entirely different page from my bookmarks! (not to mention that my feeds change randomly...new ones added that I never even visited etc...)  |

I thik it must have been one of the ads from google, bt as for the news section I have no idea how that came about.

I can't speak for Laffen obviously, but I doubt very much whether any webmaster would have their forum open a pop-up news window when somebody replies to a post. It would put people off REALLY badly!
I think it's more likely that one of your open windows was a page with DHTML elements that operate on timers or trigger when google news is updated.

@golden - Yes, something like that . . . though my POST was submitted . . . after a while I just saw Esato's page turned into Google News Page

I dont know how @jojo  It is suppose to show this thread, Ads on main forum by QVGA. That is what it does when I click on it.

Right, so what happens is if you visit a page that doesn't exist (404 page not found error), it shows briefly and then opens the google news page? Am I right?
If so, it sounds like a browser plugin such as google toolbar or something similar is redirecting any page with a 404 error to the google news site. Is the google news site your homepage?

What made me WONDER is that OUT of the 30+ sites that I've OPENED (when that thing occured . . .) was that I've NEVER opened the Google page - promise !
