Should I keep my K800i, or return it and buy a W810i? Question from a former K750i user! |

I sold my i-mobile 902, and bought K800i (don't ask me why didn't I buy K810, I didn't like the joystick, I've tried it since my friend has a mobile shop). Well, since I switched from i-mobile 902 which is 5 MP CCD phone, I expected I would notice less quality photos from K800i, but it seems that K750i which I had before 902, used to take better photos. Here are my first samples, all are indoor, because it's raining outside. I mostly used Twilight portrait, because it looks like Night mode+MXE-60 I used on my K750i.
Can you tell me if my photos are OK, or they can get better, and give me some tips. I've read many threads, reviews, and seen plenty of photos. I'm not sure of I should return my K800, and buy K750i again, or W810, or I can expect my new K800i to beat the old legend K750i.
I like everything on the phone, I just have doubts in the camera, after reading many threads, reviews, and samples.
I would like some advice from K800i & W810 users! Thanks in advance!

This is still the best photo I took with K800 so far, at least to me

p.s. I'll use the phone I buy for one year tops!

if 3g isnt a must for u and u make your most pix in 2mp, then w810 is a better option imo. it has no xenon flash, but imo doesnt really matter. i would never buy a fone cos of the cam and next to it, cybershot sounds good, next to it, the w810 cam offers great pix too

@BobaFett
Thank you for the advice, I don't need 3G, because it's not supported in my country yet, and I still have my MXE-60, so the flash issue is not a problem to me. I would keep K800 if I will get the same quality photos I got with my K750i, they don't have to be better, but just the same quality. Only thing I don't like on W810 is the absence of camera cover, and the display is much much better on K800i.

oh, i had w810, never had any scratches on the cam, dont worry cos of it. its small, great keypad and the joypad is also very comforteable at usage. it has edge, if it counts for u. next to it u have wm player and the very good battery... u should give it a try imo. i prefer the balck one

I know, that W810i is a great phone, my friend has it, and it's very similar to the K750i which I had before. I can only get the White one, right now, and it was taken from O2 so it has the O2 sticker instead of the Walkman one. But the K800i is original with the latest firmware, and 950 mAh battrey instead of 900 mAh that used to come with K800i in the begining. I'm still puzzled, I like K800i, I just don't want to be disappointed with the quality of phots, later when I won't be able to return it.

look, i made all my pix in 2mp format once, all looked great. the only advantage of k800 is the xenon flash imo, but if u have a digi cam, then it doesnt really count for u imo, cos a mobile cam is ok for fun pix, but if u go for journey, then u take the digi cam anyway i guess...
what else u se often in your fone? u browse the net, listen to music, radio?

The problem is that I don't have a dedicated dig cam at the moment, but I'm planning to buy one later, so that's why I care about the quality. K750i was almost a great replacement for a real P&S dig camera, at least with the daylight shots which were more than useful. Mayee if I take all my photos in 2 MP mode, I'll get better quality.
I mostly use my phone for taking photos and listening to the music, I sometimes use internet, but not that much because I can only use GPRS, and that's not so appealing, I prefer to go home and surf at my PC. So basically I want my phone to replace my broken digital camera (as better as possible) and an MP3 player.

I don't see a problem with your pics?
Of course a cellphone considering the small lens and short focal length will never shine indoor.
Prolly after an outdoor shooting you'll be pleased. |

@SilveR - Thank you for the advice, I like K800i better too, I was just worried about the camera quality.
@el_rycko - I don't see any problem either, but I compared the photos with some photos taken with my old K750i, and they look worse. That was my concern.
@NightBlade - Can you give me some tips then?

@salih - Are these images (all) taken with your K750i +mxe-60 xenon flash If so, I don't see anything wrong with it matey . . . back then, I also manage to see that the K750i can take BETTER shots than that of the K800 . . . I don't know much with the W810i.
So, right now you juts have your K800 and plan to SELL it and get a W810i As I am seeing' the W810i images thread, I think the fone is comparable with the K750i too (images captured with it's camera + it's a walkman fone too - good music) . . .
I think that will be a GOOD choice, as long as you KEEP your mxe-60 xenon flash with you mate, for INDOOR/NIGHT shots.
Good Luck !

bass settings k810/k800
1 bar...full
2.bar....4
3.bar....2
4.bar....7
5.bar....full
i only got good pictures in daylight, or sunset with my k810/k800...(they are not good in low light, indoor)
the flash is very good in cloose distance on k800/k810, use it often..(document profile in Macro is awesome)..but not good if its more then 1-2 meter..(there is k850 much much better)
k750 have best camera for that kind of money....(but it takes worse low light..and bad flash,(because of the LED) ........
k750 is just point & shoot...maybe you should go back to your k750, i should...you know why ???? because k750 have megabass & easier camera..but no flash of course.
or you buy a k850...more tricky to shoot with, but it take awesome low light, indoor & flash (and of course outsoor to)...the flash on k850 is better then k800/k810, because of its light sensor.

@jojo
These photos were all taken with K800i, and I'm not sure if they look worse than the photos taken with K750i + MXE-60, I keep comparing them to my old K750i shots. Since I bought K800i 4 days ago and still haven't removed all the protectors from the phone, I can still return it and get new white W810i plus some money. Thanks for the advice, I'll take some outdoor shots tomorrow, because weather forecast said it will be sunny, and then I'll decide. Thanks for your advice!
@plankgatan
Thanks a lot for the advice!
