I just got my K800i the other day, and I've noticed that when I'm talking on the phone, the screen light doesn't turn off, it just dims a little bit and stays like that the whole time I'm talking. I feel this is unnecessary and a waste of battery, so is there any way i can turn this off?

Looking forward to some answers,
Thank you!

not if you press one of your shortcuts on the joystick.

for example, i have my k810i set up to go to the bluetooth menu when i press joystick right. once i have gone into the bluetooth menu, the backlight goes off after 10-15secs

The K850i screen begins to dim after 15 secs and dims fully at 20 secs.

Same as W910, it turns off when you speak.. not those old SE phones

press the down arrow and bring up the contacts list. the light would then dim off completely after a few seconds

few minutes seems to be a long time don't you think? It is true that the iphone is the only phone i've seen that has that smart sensor.

Yup for two reasons, if you on a 1 hour plus call your battery is gonna die much quicker, and 2) the area around your ear and face will start to get uncomfortably warm.

So yeah I would think its a big deal and at present the iphone is the only phone I have seen with this sensor.

O_o

I guess you didn't understand the "when I'm talking on the phone" bit?

Anyway, yeah it's annoying that it stays on... samsung phones are worse though, the screen stays lit on them the entire time it's charging. Crazy.
