what is the type of your file (i mean .zip .... .rar or etc)

if you managed to open a zip in your p910 then a program like winzip can open it if it is an actuall zip file..

if it is a zip file then editting is is a tough work because the zips are coded files

opening a file in notepad is easy: just open the notepad - choose the open from the file menu - then change the viewing to All files(*.*) and then select your file

and that xml file contained what?
(as i remember... the xml is some kind of web page format with indexing or somthing that is normally used for storing settings or contacts)

now ... what was the content of your backup?
what program did you use to convert that backups to zips.
does the password is on the zip or on the xml file itself.
