Hi all,
Well i think i have found a bug on my N95 8GB now mine is a Voda version so would like to hear if this also exists on no branded version as well as other Voda devices or is it just mine.
OK now for the problem go into Music player and select a Album the option delete, it will delete all the songs i the Album but the title will remain and refuse to be deleted only way is to re format the mass memory.
I have broken the news here on ESATO but will know post it on other Forums to see if it affects all or not plus of course will inform Nokia.
For those who like to claim i never admit Nokia has any problems or criticise them, there you go what this then?
Marc

lol I think people would say that you're doing this just to make yourself look neutral
Regarding the bug,
It is present on Indian Nokia phones as well, was informed of this about a week ago by a maketing rep. The issue should be corrected in the next update methinks.
Whatever said and done this is a really insignificant bug compared to some other stuff I've come across in some other phones

@aksd
Hm i can't win then can i, just a shame i don't do losing then and not about to start now either.
On a more serious note i always report what i find from who ever the device comes from no point in doing anything else IMO.
@themarques
Great news can't wait to get rid of this Voda branding but i really didn't want to buy one outright if i could avoid it. Just a little wait and the new firmware will allow me get rid of it once and for all.

Hi all
OK well i am now using unbranded Generic Firmware and having decided i am keeping my iPod for Music Playback tried to delete my Albums. Same problem again i can delete the contents of the Albums but not the actual Album folder so have just reformatted my Mass memory again.

@SIGHUP
The Marques hasn't and to be honest that is the only Bug or problem of any kind i have had in nearly a month of heavy use.
I can now leave it running for as long as i want and even with 28 apps running and Bluetooth constantly on with the Bluetooth Keyboard app running as well still have over 68mb free Ram.
The speed and stability is really quite amazing and everything just works as it should.
@nokiamaniax
I am running the latest Generic V11.0.026 and i had the problem originally when it was running Voda branded software. Maybe it has something to do with how my Music is encoded and transferred to my device, but it won't bother me any longer as i am using my iPod for Music again.

That album issue must be a bug. I have that same problem and my phone was bought unbranded directly from a Nokia store in HK. I have updated the firmware and changed the product code for language pack changing purposes. |

Count your lucky stars Vodafone are still doing updates for the N95,
cos when it comes to the E65 there not and when you get one of them they come with very old firmware dated the start of the year

The only reason i bought the N95 8GB from Voda was i wasn't prepared to wait for their exclusive period to end patience is not a virtue i am blessed with. Also as i knew i could change the product code and get generic firmware easily it wasn't a problem for me, although originally i though the Voda branding was quite minimal once running generic firmware i realised just how much they actually did do to it and it sucks big time IMO. Thankfully there is only a small Voda logo on the battery cover and as it's in a case i can live with that.

The Branding doesn't bother me,
it's just the case ive got a brandnew phone sitting in the box cos im scared it will result in faults a few days down the line,
I should use it really cos atleast it's within Vodafones warranty if it does mess up, frankley though I wish I haggled one of those N95's out of them to about £130ish with my contract, would be nice if it was free though they have topped my contract upto a 24mth one ironically
need to write a letter and cancel that for sure

I have just answered this in another thread but short version is it has 2 Years Nokia warranty and you can just take it to a Nokia Service Centre and get it fixed. but really it's an E series device the likelihood of it developing a hardware fault is minimal.

@Dragon Eye,
I tried everything they just sat there with 0 tracks in them not exactly a deal breaker i just reformatted the mass memory and copied my Films, Video's Pictures and Video's, Podcast's and Documents back. Which wasn't that bad as i needed to remove Season 1 of Heroes and 2 films any way.
I'm not using it for Music anymore gone back to the iPod for that more info to come in my part two review soon, but i really do like this device a lot.
