I have a SE w700i, I was playing music when it stop, I had to remove the battery to turn it off. When I tried to turn it on presented a white screen (turning on and off) (I think is the White Screen of Death).
I have to use the phone without the Memory Stick, because when I put it in, gives me the WSD.
I thought that there was a problem with the firmware (R1CA021) I flashed the last one (R1DB001) with the PhoneXS++ and FarManager, but keeps giving me the problem.
The phone works with no problem unless I put the Memory Stick in it.

Please HELP!!!!

Have you tried any other memory sticks in the phone? Could be the sticks become corrupted, try formatting it via the PC if you have a memory card reader.

Has the phone come into contact with any moisture at all? Even a small amount, could be the memory card reader on the phone has got a bit of moisture damage on it.

I tried with a 512mb SanDisk, and it gave me the same problem.

About the moisture, there was and storm in my country (Dominican Rep)before it gave the problem, but the phone was in my house, it wasn't in contact directly with water. If it is because, can I fix it?

Sadly water damage is usually irreversible, though if the phone was inside I'd imagine the phone was fine. It does sound like either a firmware problem still or a problem to do with the card reader - maybe just dust accumulating in the card reader on the phone, maybe taking the phone apart and cleaning it may help, or giving that slot a quick blast with one of those compressed air cans?

@vad - If you have tried (2) different memory sticks with it . . . I guess the problem is NOT the card anymore . . . but the fone. [addsig]

Try with another card... I had similar problem when I tried 512MB one (sony) in my w800... While another EXACTLY SAME card managed perfectly, so may be the card causing that problem.

I found that this problem could be the result of EROM.
Checked with the PhoneXS, said EROM: n / a.

I found 2 forms to update:

1 .- WotanClient: supposedly (because I was unable to confirm) update EROM is free (not have to register), but when I follow thel steps (press 2 and 5 at the same time and connect the phone with usb) the only thing itdoes is turn on the phone, and thus the WotanClient not detected it.
2 .- PhoneXS, the problem here is that I can't find the EROM for the w700, I think I can only use the w700. These are the ones I found:

Tell me how I can update it, or if I can do something with what I found.

open wotan client, click start and then press the 2+5 keys.
