Should I replace my phone? - k850i |

I use to charge my phone in the nights. When I wake up the status usually is around 60-70 %, after about 6 hours of charging!
Sometimes when I turn it off and on again, it will show 99% .
In just a couple of hours, let say 4 hours. The status can show only 20%
And then I have to recharge it.. Can't hear music with it, because I do want to answer the phone calls coming in at day time.
Is this something thaat can be fixed in a firmware update. Some others having a problem like this? Or should I return my phone to the dealer?

Yes, I think I will try the firmware update when it comes out at first. Just wanted to hear if you guys think it was a software issue or a issue with the handset.
Today i unplugged it from charge 3.5 hours ago, it was full then. Now it is only 37 % full

Try using the phone as long as you can without charging it and see when it will die. If it dies soon meaning as the counter shows, that means it is a hardware problem and you should go for replacement. If the counter reaches 1% and the phone keeps going, it means that it is a firmware problem that cannot show the exact power remained. At the second scenario wait for a firmware upgrade and see if it gets solved otherwise send it back. |

Yes, will do that.. Tried to turn it OFF and ON again. Then the counter showed 93%, so it looks like a FW issue. |

It certainly sounds like a firmware issue, though it's not one I've seen on any of my handsets. It's a known issue that it'll never charge to 100%, but what you describe is strange.

Actually I have seen my status at 100%. So I do not have that problem. |

Drain your battery completely, do a Master reset and charge it for 12 hours straight. Then see if you face the same problem. Sounds like a battery issue to me. If the above does'nt work, then its best you get the battery replaced at an authorised service center |

I am thinking if the FIRMWARE has something to do with HOW the battery PERFORMS Battery is considered a HARDWARE - right How about the CHARGER

Yeah it's a firmware issue. there is some glitch with how the counter measures the capacity of the battery. i believe the battery is already full but the software shows 93%. just keep your K850 and wait for an upcoming firmware updates, i will bet that this will all be fixed, just keep your faith with SE J2ME developers, they never fail us with Java Phone developments unlike in UIQ

@p!xarus
It gets to 100% but then starts to decrease.

Yes, something like that.
But it decrease way to fast.
Hope that SE do come with a FW update, that will delete all the bugs on this phone. Cause without them, it is a fantastic gadget.
