Hello, all

I've had my T68i for about 3 weeks now and today I when i picked it I checked the standby time and for some reason it is only listing 48 hours.

It wasnt like this last night or even earlier this morning. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what can i do to remedy it?

Thanks in advance.

I don`t want to insult your intelligence but have you switched the background light to "on" because that will drastically reduce your standby.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I haven't changed any settings to my phone so i don't think it is anything that i have done. Also the battery indicator shows a full battery, so i dont think it is just normal usage.

It takes time for these to fully condition, you must fully charge (all night won`t hurt) & fully drain it at least 5 to 10 times before, deciding its faulty, plus your battery may perform OK as those meters are`nt always very accurate.

My buddy's T68 is like that. When we put my battery in it, worked fine, he's gotta send it back to replace. You're not alone.

Do you know if it is a problem with the battery or the phone?

I was on the phone with SE and they told me that they werent aware of this happening(I've read multiple cases of this on Esato) and to let my phone drain to see if i need a new battery or a firmware upgrade.

Thanks

my batt used to drain v quick til i turned constant gprs signal off. now my phone only looks for a gprs signal when i wanna use gprs. takes a second or so extra for it to connect to gprs but get loads longer frommy battery.

oh yeah, batt life also depends on where you are and how hard your phone has to work for a signal. for example, if you are at work and there is a transmitter near by your phone does not have to work so hard. say you have a few days off and go to the country side or where ever and the transmitter is a little further away, your phone will have to work harder to keep a signal and so batt life will drain quicker.

How do you set your gprs signal to only activate when you need it?

goto the main menu -> connect -> data comm -> pref. service -> GSM only
change it back when you want to leave GPRS on.
personally, I leave it on all the time and I still get 280+ standby when fully charged,
so i think those that have 48hours have some problems since it really isnt likely that it'd be so low when fully charged, even if you turn everything on.
