used to have one of those adapters, but i eventually bought a stereo bluetooth headset. those things will malfunction after a few months, especially if your phone is also your main music player.

Ebay. 1$ plus shipping.

And i never understood why they make this thing with a 2 inches cable. Why not make a solid block with the 3.5mm jack in it? They need some design ideas!

Building something yourself should be pretty simple if you have an old K-series handsfree kit, a 3.5mm stereo jack, and a soldering iron.

I was totally fed up with the earphones on my original SE handsfree kit, so I added a jack for my own earphones. However, I wanted to keep the handsfree functionality, so it is not quite as simple as your case. If I remember correctly, these are roughly the steps I took:

  • Prised open the microphone housing on the handsfree kit

  • Desoldered the original headphones from the circuit board, and made a note of what colour the wires were that carried the signal. (Blue and green, can't remember which channel was which)

  • Closed up the microphone housing again.

  • Cut the cable a few inches up from the phone connector.

  • For once in my life I remembered to slide all the heatshrink tubing onto the wires before I started soldering!

  • Soldered the white and black (microphone) wires back together again so that the microphone would work on the handsfree kit.

  • Soldered the blue, green and ground wires to an old 3.5 mm jack I had lying around.

  • Used loads of heatshrink tubing to make everything nice and snug and secure.

It doesn't look the prettiest, and I guess my soldering won't last forever. However I'm so much happier using earbuds that actually stay in my ears, and finally hearing my music properly at last!

that's another info. but here's

here's the deal:

i have a 4-pin DCU-60 data cable (link below)

http://twigtrick.com/uxcell/images/item/catalog/ux_a06111000ux0057_ux_c.jpg

which i used for charging, transfering stuffs from my laptop to k610i and vice versa.
is it possible to add a 3.5mm stereo adapter to the other end (USB end)? if so, can someone tell me how to do it?
