Hey. Just got given a w800i in a deal regarding my N95. The phones sound, except for one big problem.
The Joystick. It's not the usual "i cant turn the joystick in a certain direction" problem. i have a problem where which ever direction i press the joystick in, it doesn't navigate to. what it does is it presses the joystick in opening up the menu etc.
I've dis-mantled and cleaned the phone but with no change in the fault
I've used the Search and google but cant find a problem like mine.
Any ideas ?
P.S - I was thinking if a new joystick would solve it.

your PS sounds more likely the culprit. and i think you might be referring to this part:
its called the K750i/W800i joystick module and its available at cnn.cn

This is because the gasket below the joystick has jammed up, you need to gently release the gasket. |

Aldrinus, any idea how easy it is to remove the current joystick component and replace it - e.g. simple pop out-pop in, or a soldering job? |
