Hey. Just got given a w800i in a deal regarding my N95. The phones sound, except for one big problem.

The Joystick. It's not the usual "i cant turn the joystick in a certain direction" problem. i have a problem where which ever direction i press the joystick in, it doesn't navigate to. what it does is it presses the joystick in opening up the menu etc.

I've dis-mantled and cleaned the phone but with no change in the fault

I've used the Search and google but cant find a problem like mine.

Any ideas ?

P.S - I was thinking if a new joystick would solve it.

Thanks
Danny

hey, mate..

your PS sounds more likely the culprit. and i think you might be referring to this part:

its called the K750i/W800i joystick module and its available at cnn.cn
here's the link:

hope this helps.

This is because the gasket below the joystick has jammed up, you need to gently release the gasket.

Aldrinus, any idea how easy it is to remove the current joystick component and replace it - e.g. simple pop out-pop in, or a soldering job?
