I am in the US, and purchased a P1i. When it arrived, it was an Arabic CDA. I did some research, downloaded XS++ (Sinyar), and backed up the GDFS. Then, I selected the GW1 item: P1i_R9G007_R2A03_R6D23_CDA162022_1(GW1)_R6D22.gdfs and sent it to the phone. Next, I ran the SEUS and it detected it as Global World 1 phone. It began the update process and I switched to other tasks. I checked back every once in a while, and it progressed. The last time I checked back it didn't show a success message, but was at the program start screen. I figured the phone was flashed, so I disconnected it, inserted the SIM, and started it.

At this time, the phone would not turn on. I re-ran SEUS and it could not detect the phone model. XS++ now says:

23:00:51| Sending db2000_cid03_prodid_p3b.bin...

23:00:53| Cannot open GDFS
23:00:53| Ready for operation!

I tried restoring my GDFS backup, but it cannot access GDFS to restore the backup. I tried re-sending the CDA Version change from XS++ but it just sits at "23:01:16| Activating GDFS..." and does not continue.

From reading other similar posts for other phones, I think I may need to do a "full flash" at this point, or I have completely bricked my phone after a half day of use. Any advice?

The next version of XS++ can help you

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

gbrooks3, that's fantastic news for me... thanks for the very encouraging reply!

Now, should I wait for the new version to be released, or grovel and beg for a pre-release like a dog at the dinner table?
I'm in a crunch for time (I'm writing some end-user software for this phone) so I ended up buying yet another P1i, which hopefully arrives early next week.

Replying to self...
Just found the right spot on se-nse for the 3.1 prerelease. I'll play around and see if I can figure it out. I believe I now need to find a firmware file and try the new smartphone flash feature

Holy , my P1i is unbricked! THANK YOU gbrooks3! Do you have a paypal tip jar somewhere that needs some appreciation?

One thing: the link in the help file to "P1i Ressurection Package" didn't work when I clicked it. Viewing properties on the page showed the URL as: res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\[....]brooks3/XS++%20Dev/P1_CCPU.zip The correct URL was obvious so I just pasted it into my browser.

One other thing for anyone wondering... I flashed using XS++ inside Parallels on a Macbook Pro. The only glitch (and it may not be parallels related) is that I have to click "Connect" twice while holding "C" down on the phone to get a connection. The first time you click Connect it fails. The second time it works fine. I think this may have something to do with how Parallels shares the USB devices.

Again THANKS gbrooks3!

The link is active but redirection doesn't seem to work.

Don't click it.
Copy & paste it into the address bar of a new browser page or in your download manager.

Should work.

If not, get it here:
