I've been synching my W950i with the Address Book (and iCal) on my Mac using iSync and bluetooth since I got it a couple of months ago. I've never tried it with the BT energy-save function turned on and it has worked satisfactory although a few times it has failed and the phone has automatically restarted.

A couple of days ago I started adding pictures to my contacts. I did this by moving 320x240 jpegs to the phone and then add them manually to the contacts. I then tried syching and everything went well and the images ended up in the Address Book on the computer. Then I added some more images the same way and suddenly iSync fails. If I tell it to sync just the calendar it works, but just the contacts or both the contacts and the calendar results in a failed sync. It just says "Connecting..." for a little while before giving up and telling me it failed and that I should restart the phone and try again.

I'm not sure, but I might've tried synching with the energy-save funtion activated - any chance this somehow "broke" the settings? Far-fetched, but we've seen worse, right?

Do you guys think all those images (46 in total, but at least half of those were transferred on the first synch) somehow became "too much" to transfer or something? Any suggestions are welcome as I would *really* like to avoid a master reset.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.10, the official SE iSync plugin and the R9GA001 firmware which I believe is the latest.

An update might be in place on this post. By exchanging all the images for 240x180 jpegs (instead of the 320x240 ones) I got it to sync again a little after the last post. Now, however it has started to act up once more. I've added more pics, but none larger than 240x180 - perhaps it's the filesize and not pixel size which is the limiting factor and one of the later ones is too big?

Anyone, anyone, Buehler?

I'd say that most people here are PC users, me too as it happens To me it sounds like a problem with isync rather than your phone, possibly the drivers? Sadly that's my best guess as I've had little experience with macs, all I can suggest is you chek SE's site for a later version of the mac software/drivers.

Sorry I can't be of more help - just didn't want you to feel neglected

I just downloaded this app this evening, works very well (I can't speak for contacts with photos though)

I actually managed to resolve my issues almost completely.

I bought a new Bluetooth donge to resolve a problem I had with crackling noise while playing music (which began when I got myself a Apple Wireless keyboard). It didn't help though, but made me delete the computer from the phone's list of Bluetooth devices and after pairing up again it worked!

The only issue left is that iSync seems to fail to establish a connection every other time, but it seems I nly have to try again to make it work.

The iSync plugin for this phone is the official one from SE and TTBOMK there is no further official software development being made for lod phones like mine.
